Photo metadata check
Before you post.
Your phone writes more into a photo than the picture. Drop one in to see what it gives away, then download a clean copy. Nothing is uploaded: the file never leaves this tab.
What gets removed
- Kept
- Every pixel, untouched. JPEGs are cleaned byte-for-byte with no re-compression. The colour profile and the "which way is up" flag stay so the photo looks the same.
- Removed
- GPS, timestamps, camera make, model and serial number, owner name, editing software, XMP and IPTC blocks, and hidden comments.
- Not covered
- What is in the picture. A street sign, a house number or a reflection still gives you away.
